Finding the right atomizer, one that makes us climb the walls and electrified us, is not necessarily easy. For any self-respecting vapoteur is somehow number one goal, the priority goal.
Close relationship between flavor and atomizer:
As I wrote in a previous article, the art of vapotage is indeed find the ideal harmony between flavor and atomizer. A few sprays will give the best of themselves with some flavor, then they will be rather disappointing with other flavors, and this, regardless of the volume of steam produced.
I also noticed that the fruit flavors accorded better with steam "cold", while the aromas "tobacco" flavors and "greedy" and were often readily enhanced by the warm vapors or hot. This enables us to tackle the jungle atomizers with a thread.
The EGO-C featuring:
Under these conditions, the arrival of the EGO-C illuminates the world of electronic cigarette in a new light. This is sort of the return type of the atomizer TANK on center stage.
The first spray TANK had the advantage of ease of use, had the advantage of a visible liquid level in the tank, but it suffered from some weaknesses. Particularly in terms of volume of vapor, relatively average, and restoration of flavors. Taste a little artificial obtained, with a vague whiff of plastic impressions left me pretty flat. The real flavor of the liquid as it appeared that watermark. Meanwhile, the risk of ending up with a clogged atomizer was not negligible.
TANKS with the latest generation of C-type EGO, it is quite different. From the first breath, the vapor density is undeniably at the rendezvous. From this perspective, it's the same day and night, and I can even say that this feature reconcile myself with the TANK. This is not the only reason.
Aroma, too discreet with first TANKS, this time is much more noticeable. Consequently, the "HIT" is much better, and now an electronic cigarette vapoter flavorful and tasty becomes even more satisfying.
As for the threat of a possible premature closure, limits the occurrence of this phenomenon seem to have been pushed annoying. EGO-C system, multi-piece removable (head and body), is moreover ingenious. He not only simplifies maintenance by allowing the replacement of these parts separate, but logically it should also extend the life expectancy of all.
The MEGA DUAL COIL, loyalty personified:
To me, the DUAL COIL remains no less the king of atomizers, at least in regard to tobacco and gourmet liquid. Warm and dense steam is that it provides all the needs of vapoteurs diligent, demanding, seeking sensations similar to those of the smoker.
However, I add a reference to any special type cartomiseurs MEGA DUAL COIL whose homogeneity and performance are particularly surprising. Having "consumed" several dozen in recent weeks, I could see how their quality workmanship was outstanding and steady. Of all materials tested intensively, it is this type of atomizer that gives me the best vapor density, and restores to me the best, by far my favorite flavors, mainly for liquids and greedy as I tobacco have mentioned above.

The Raptor, the eGo and Atomizers / Cartomiseurs associated under the microscope
One morning, some time ago already, the moment of truth arrived in the mailbox ... And it is always with a spirit of curiosity, a sense of starting to make new discoveries that opening the package. In other words, we can hardly wait!
And here you come face to face with a nice black pouch, flexible coating with synthetic leather evokes a bit. A very nice kit, closed by a zipper on about 60% of its periphery.
It appears reasonable dimensions. Not too large, it can slip easily into a large jacket pocket, or purse, to keep us company throughout the day. Not too small either, it will have sufficient capacity to accommodate at least two batteries, two atomizers, two cartridges and a USB charger.
As long as one has the sense of method and storage, I think it is also possible to accommodate two 10 ml bottles of e-liquid.
The package and its contents leave no doubt: the Raptor is related to the ego.
The Raptor, and it is his mission, we propose to study the relative merits of LR 510 type sprays, which work with a cartridge wad, atomizers type tank, for receiving a cartridge containing a small reservoir , and finally sprays DC (Dual Coil), ie cartomiseurs (+ atomizer cartridge wad integrated) double resistance (1.5 ohm "exit").
They are thus a "personality" very special, and they are keen to demonstrate their virtues compared to other atomizers included in the pack.
Ultimately, the Raptor represents somehow the freedom to choose how best to vapoter. At least one that will help beginners, but experienced users, to determine the method which, after all, will suit them best.
The tests we have undertaken the following will be synthesized as a series of headings such as "Volume of steam", "Practical aspects, ease of use," "Feels Like", etc.. and offer some comments. Each section will give the "word" to all three types of sprayers: tank, 510 RS, and DC (Dual Coil).
I - Let's open the ball with some remarks descriptive
Appearance, dimensions:
EGO type batteries are controlled by a switch. This solution has proven itself. More reliable than automatic battery (in which the electrical contact is established by the aspiration of the user), the batteries to "switch" are easy to handle, the pressure on the switch when vacuum vapor quickly becoming mechanical .
The dimensions of a complete EGO (battery + atomizer and cartridge) are larger than those of a conventional electronic cigarette, let alone those of a real cigarette. Weight is also three times, approximately, to that of a conventional electronic cigarette.
These features are neither embarrassing nor disadvantageous. If no resemblance to real cigarettes, the sets of types EGO certainly represent the ideal solution for frequent vapoteurs. The choice of similarity criterion when buying electronic cigarette is therefore in our view a mistake, yet widely spread.
Charge, electric range:
According to battery capacity (900 mAh, 1000 mAh or 1100 mAh), charging batteries demand two to three hours on charger, and about twice on USB charger. As for autonomy, it directly depends on the pace of vapotage and type of atomizer used. On average, a dozen hours of use is a good estimate. Slightly by slowing its needs, it can even reach 15 or 16 hours. It is rare to come down to less than eight hours.
II - Now for the merits of different atomizers.
Ease of use, filling, sealing, autonomy in cash:
LR 510:
The atomizer consists of LR 510 different nested cylinders. The first is the one that is worn on the lips. The second contains the pith (kind of cotton which is impregnated with liquid) and comes to entrench the first tip. Is depressed then these two cylinders gathered on the third cylinder, in other words the body of the atomizer itself, one that contains resistance, and that attaches to the battery via a screw thread.
The RS 510 is therefore appealing to the classical technique of "fluff" on which the liquid is poured directly from the bottle. This operation, carried out with care, presents no difficulty. The capacity is only about ten drops at most. In terms of "fuel", autonomy is only average. However the wad gets tired over time, loses its absorbent qualities and takes unpleasant odors rather quickly. This is the Achilles heel of this type of atomizer which, together, is not always immune to the phenomena of fluid leakage at the joining part between the cartridge and the atomizer. Given autonomy in cash, the RS 510 can not satisfy a vapotage casual and non-intensive.
TANK:
The filling of a tank is a little trickier. It is especially important to remove the small cap closing the tank before filling about 80% capacity. Then you have to close above this cap firmly by pressing to hear the little noise that attests to a good closure. Then you have to push the cartridge on the atomizer, firmly again, operation also confirmed by a click. Because of its design life of a cartridge tank is in principle unlimited. Meanwhile, the seal is supposed to be trusted. In practice, things are not so simple. The tightness of the seal deteriorates over time, and some problems of small leaks can occur over time. However, the cartridges 'tanks' have a small window that lets you control the level of remaining liquid, which is very convenient. Despite a relatively large fluid intake, autonomy of the tank is fairly satisfactory.
Dual Coil:
The filling of a DC is not really difficult, but this is probably the most restrictive. You must complete this cartomiseur drip, gently, or using a syringe. Filling dip is also possible. If one avoids the overflow, the tightness of the DC is almost perfect, and leaks exist. Autonomy in cash is very satisfactory, a DC properly filled up "hold" easily a full day or more.
In brief
Despite the precautions to be taken during filling, and limited autonomy in the amount of liquid, the spray tank wins little section of the ease of use. But the Dual Coil nothing wrong, far from it. Autonomy in cash is a very positive point. However, DC is the largest consumer of electricity. It will reduce quite significantly the autonomy of electric batteries. For its part, the RS 510 can really satisfy that occasional use, and domestic, as discussed below.
III - power, life, volume of vapor
LR 510:
The volume of vapor obtained using an RS 510 is relatively small. Some copies appear to be more effective than others. Note that the amount of vapor that is however significantly larger when using the RS 510 in "Dry" (pouring two or three drops of liquid directly to the resistance). Note also that by combining the "Dry" with the wad impregnated, there is usually more satisfactory yields. Be careful to blow into the atomizer before first use, to eliminate the liquid plant protection. This indeed gives a very unpleasant taste.
The lifespan is quite variable. It also depends on the maintenance, cleaning potential of the wad, and the resistance. Cleaning sprays LR 510, which needs to be done regularly, is somewhat restrictive, but it is not difficult.
TANK:
The volume of steam delivered by a tank is generally regular and it is rather important. Many vapoteurs appreciate. The downside is that a tank gets dirty pretty fast. The cleaning of this type of atomizer is tricky if you want to do it thoroughly. The lifetime is therefore irregular, partly because of maintenance difficulties, and partly because of the nature of the object. On average, one to three months if periodic maintenance is assured. Sometimes less.
Dual Coil:
Unfortunately there is some irregularity in the manufacturing quality of CDs. Some are very productive, so that the volume of vapor is itself impressive, while the performance of other copies is quite disappointing. It's the same with regard to life, more or less satisfactory according to the copies. However, a DC that works well is the king of atomizers. It does not require maintenance.
In summary:
The life of all atomizers, without exception, is variable. Depending on the cleaning and maintenance it can vary from several days to several months for RS 510 and tank sprayers. The technique of "Dry" saves the RS 510 of its weaknesses, but can not really be practiced in domestic use, "at home". A DC can be reloaded a dozen times or so. It is very difficult to separate the three types of atomizers on the above criteria. When it works well, my preference is still very much in DC.
IV - Collection, recovery of aromas, steam temperature
LR 510:
An atomizer 510 LR produces a vapor substantially cold. Some flavors, mainly fruity, are ripe better. The LR 510 also restores the flavors quite well, except when the fill and / or resistance of the sprayer becomes clogged (s). On the other hand, the atomizer 510 LR has a very low resistance to draw. The suction is very easy, sometimes almost too much.
TANK:
As LR 510, the tank produces a cool mist. The remark made about 510 LR for fruity remains valid in the case of the tank. However, the tank "erases" substantially the perception of flavor. Tastes become somewhat neutral, and sometimes artificial, with a kind of sensation steam "plastic". There is not much to do to remedy this situation, if not to use a very tasty flavor, like apple or banana, or fishing. Furthermore, tanks are often but not always, a certain resistance to draw. It must suck harder, and this feature will not provide the same approval. It will be appreciated differently by different users.
Dual Coil:
In contrast, the RS 510 and tanks, DCs produce a warm vapor. This feature allows you to recommend this type of cartomiseur for aromas of tobacco and type of delicious aromas, especially since the return of these flavors is then excellent. As for manufacturing irregularities of DCs, it is also felt on the draw. Some DCs offers no resistance to draw, while others are more reluctant, somewhat as if they were partially blocked.
In brief
DCs seem to suit the tobacco flavors and delicious aromas. For example, vapoter lukewarm coffee with a DC seems more rational and more flavorful than cold through a tank or a 510 RS. The latter is still midway between the tank and the DC, and allows mixed use relatively convincing in the return of all types of flavors. However, apple and raspberry, warm, are certainly less significant on a CD, while a 510 or LR tank the better result. Obviously, tastes depend on each, the above remarks are being provided for information only.
V - Sensation in throat hit
This overview would not be complete without a word about the hit, the feeling in throat that most former smokers looking furiously.
The "hit", as it is called in the jargon of the electronic cigarette, depends on many factors. The perception of each vapoteur is not foreign either. Say briefly, that the hit depends on the type of atomizer, but it strongly depends on the selected level of nicotine and aroma used. Some aromas provide more than others, depending, of course, and still, the perception of users. Personally, apple, coffee and tobacco aromas tickle me some kindly and pleasantly throat, much as other perfumes. It may be not the case for everyone.
Regarding the atomizers, hit the back of the palm, clearly, in DC. The second seems to come, in my opinion, the atomizer 510 RS, while the tank is found bottom of the ranking. Differences in classification may, however, to expand or tighten as the flavorings used.
VI - Summary and ease of use
In terms of effectiveness and use, so it is difficult to separate the three types of atomizers. Their advantages and disadvantages in crossover play. The vapoteurs warned will understood that it is playing on the characteristics of these sprays can gain the most from the electronic cigarette type EGO.
VII - Recommendations
After several weeks of use, I allow myself to give some advice to my fellow vapoteurs (-keynote speakers).
- Adapt your atomizers your liquids. Enjoy your electronic cigarette much more if you adopt this approach. So have several types of atomizers on hand.
- Build a "park" at least four batteries. You vapoterez on two of them while you charge the other two. This method is also almost indispensable in case of frequent travel.
- Buy two chargers, preferably with a module area.
- Please keep your equipment carefully. Approval of use will be even better.
- Feel free to send in the trash sprays clearly reached the end of life, or produce odd tastes despite cleaning undertaken.
